Sled Run

Thani and Boreas at the truck's tailgate asking, "Pleeeese... can we come up?"

Still not much snow out there... kinda depressing... it could be worse. I could have a whole team of screaming crazies and have to run the four wheeler the whole time or stay home. Again, everyone was really great and I only had one of those "that could have been bad" moments.

Ive been bringing Remus back with me to the sled when we are stopped (hes been running in wheel) its helping out a lot, taking more pressure off the main line, but the hooks still gave way, I think Salmon was being naughty and encouraged the dogs to pull when they were supposed to whoa, but one hook caught again.

Having Remi there gave me a few extra seconds to grab the sled before it got out of reach. At the last second one of the hooks dug in deep and held fast. I'm not sure what I had caught but it was harder than heck to get it out when I was ready to go!

The babies came along again and were pretty upset at being left in the truck. Its all good training and even though Id like to take them on the trail, as I did with Juno when she was a pup, our snow conditions are way too marginal to allow any shift in focus or to hold a pup in the sled.

They will have to wait just a bit longer before getting to stretch their muscles. They have enjoyed their short walks when we get to the trail and when the team and I get back but they are still full of energy when we get home.

These are a wonderful bunch of children and I cant wait to show them so much more of this great big world!
