We had to do our weekly trip into town to get dog food and other misc supplies. Since it was Nyx's day 'in' she got to come along for the ride with our house dogs Juno, Ajax and Spock.Ajax (our mini dachshund) has a special place to sit since he is the mini of the bunch. I have an old couch cushion set up on a small kennel that works well for chewy puppies or a safe haven for any grocery's I pick up at the store.
When Nyx was little she liked to sit up there just like Ajax but now that she is getting older she doesn't want to drop the habit. It always makes me laugh... I mean really, how can you have a bad day with that beautiful face looking so adorable!
Since we were running late we had to make a burger run at Wendy's. All the dogs know how exciting the drive-through is... I usually get them each a kids cheese burger if I have the extra cash on hand... so when I pulled in Nyx had her head out the window looking for handouts. Im used to the, "Oh my God, you have a LOT of dogs in there." comment so it was nothing new to get it again tonight.
But what never ceases to amaze me is how dog friendly this town is. I paid for my food and instead of getting my change I got a big dog biscuit! Eventually I did get my change but it is always a shock when businesses allow their establishments to carry dog biscuits for their furry customers!
And its not just fast food places, the airport has given them out and the dogs have even gotten treats when we pass through the security gate on Eielson Air Force Base!
