Its still raining and the temperature has finally gotten to me. I had to close up most of the windows after my hands started getting numb. The temp outside is about 47, inside at 60 and continued to drop with the fresh air coming in.I really dislike shutting the windows in summer, its our only time to get fresh air coming in and fully be a part of the outside 24/7.
When the rain falls at night I sleep deeply, lulled into dreamstate with the wonderful patter of rain drops. But the last few nights I cant seem to sleep at all. Moving plans for the dogs run through my head constantly, Hermes is having a tough time figuring out what to do with all the rain and its getting serious enough that I may have to temperarily relocate dogs to other areas of the yard until the rain gets under control. If we get another dump tonight on top of the steady fall we are getting now I will have to focus more hours in the yard moving them around.
Any other time of year this would be easy to manage but Im still trying to juggle the bulk of summer business and any extra time I have is given to my clients. But, with any emergency, lives have to be shuffled as well as schedules and eventually we will get all caught up. Family is first and the dogs are as much a part of our family as any other human member.
Oh boy, here comes the first dump of rain... the forecast says we are to expect more. So far Fairbanks doesnt seem in dire danger of flooding but Salcha is on flood watch...
