Getting warmer...

... but not by much.

Downstairs on the laptop again. No improvement in the weather but it did warm up just a little. Its -45 right now and all last night it was -50. Its not the best improvment but at least its soemthing.

James is home today trying to thaw out the downstairs pipes. Hes been working on it for some time with little success. Its really tough to get anything to work when its so cold even though the temperature inside isnt nearly as bad as it is out.

The tiniest tasks seem to take forever and even with a full day stuck at home its difficult to get much done at all. After getting woken up too many times to count last night I seemed to be patroling one dog or another this morning, making sure they behave themselves and that James is staying safe while he works on the house.

I cant tell who needs watching more, him or the dogs! He keeps giving them chip cans to tear up, the empty eggnog crate and Calypso keeps stealing our extra chicken egg crates too. Its one mess after another but Id gladly clean up scraps rather than bodily fluids. After the first couple of accidents the first few days every one seemed to be getting the hang of things and we havent had too much trouble.

Last night the pups seemed to be up to no good again. Someone unplugged James' car so he had to take my Jeep into work for an hour or so before he came back to work on the house. I told him it was their way of showing love... they wanted him to stay home too!

I found some old knuckles I was saving for the indoor dogs as their Christmas present but now seems like the perfect time to use them. I hear crunching going on all around me and Mercury is insistant that no one comes within five feet of him or he will bark and growl his alarm.

I was worried the tension might get too high with so many tasty things around to compete over but so far every one is being very good. I hope it continues...

We may be getting a break of -30 or -35 on Friday. Its not much of warm spell but its enough to allow the outside dogs back out for a while. It will be for a short time since its supposed to drop down to -40 or more again.
