Still no relief...

I'm actually starting to get used to this... god forbid!

It was -47 last night and is -44 right now. Not much hope of the dogs going outside today but at least the office is staying cool for everybody.

Having all these dog bodies in here really heats things up so we have to have the fan on all the time we are in here. Its a nice compromise... we can save a bit on our heating fuel for the rest of the house!

I want to say a HUGE thank you to all our watchers. The pups and I are grateful. I am grateful because its keeping my sanity by giving me a reason to post here every day and the pups thank you cause their mom is more mellow since she can regain her sanity by posting here every day! : )

Thanks also to my friend Robert who is braving the elements and taking photos that are the closest Ive ever seen to really describing how cold it gets here. Its one thing to stay its minus what ever but its another to live in it and experience the mental setbacks that eat away at the brain day after day in temperatures this extreme.

Every year the winter makes me extremely grateful for the little bit of warmth that comes after January has passed. I cant possibly explain how utterly delightful the sun is when it lays on my winter locked skin after so many months of dark and bitter cold.

When I lived in California (another lifetime ago) I hated the sun, absolutely HATED it, but here... oh wow, I never thought I would grow to worship it so.

As I struggle to keep my thoughts positive, beat back the frost god and fight off cabin fever I welcome all to keep your thoughts positive and think to the March days that are sure to come where the sun is bright, the snow deep, dogs healthy and the trails stretch on into forever... those days will come, oh yes, they will come...
