Quite possibly the coolest thing Ive made...

... or the warmest!

Especially for me cause my hands get soooo cold in the winter. Last season I tried wearing fleece wristies and they worked so well! So this year I played around with a pattern for knit wristies out of dog hair and they are sooooo comfortable!!

The lighter ones are from Iris, which I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to wear. Since she has passed I am hesitant to wear them out even only a little bit. But I may pack them away gently in my sled so she can stay with us in some small physical form.

The grey ones are from Spock and it will be so cool to have him out there again since hes been retired now for many years.

I am currently working on Mercury and Griffin lined overmitts for my sled handlebow. So far I'm really liking how they are turning out but it will take me a bit more time to complete since the only time I have to work on them is at night before bed.

Once those are complete I will have all the retired guys with me and also those who have passed on. I made an Aquila hat earlier this season... so the only ones I will be missing are Beano, Patsy and Ursa but they are still very much alive in the depths of my heart.

Its been really nice to see the husky hair hats selling at a slower pace at the Yukon Quest. Last year I was spinning and knitting so much that my hands were beginning to hurt! I was thinking of putting them in Riverboat but not this year. I am greatly enjoying the slower pace and taking full advantage of my wonderful huskies fur to make things for myself, finally!

I often put myself on the back burner far too often. Through a more intense focus this year I am able to concentrate more on saving a few more things for myself and still managing to get everything done. 'Managing' being the very important factor here...
