This is the colored version of the sketch I posted a while back. I had a lot of fun with fur texture on this and finding my center with so much help from Ursa herself. I still miss her so much but feel richer for just having known her in the five years we spent together.
Its eerie how alive she feels to me through this piece. I feel a far deeper connection with this than I do with any other photograph Ive taken in her short time here...
Still working on my large commission piece during the day but after that is done I have a really exciting project in the wings that I will share with you all soon. Depending on how the chips may fall it may come about quickly or take a while... with these things I never know. The wind blows me in so many ways and I delight in all that I discover along the way.
I still want to desperately get back to my sculpting but the process of reproduction has stumped me for the time being. Soon though, I will get back to that... and prints of this, and my other work that is available, will be ready for purchase on our website soon (www.LeadDogGraphics.com). For now they can be bought at the Yukon Quest cabin and at the Bear Gallery in Fairbanks, Alaska.
