Adjustments

Now that James and I are slooowly on the mend (cough continues but its great to be upright again!!) Mercury had his second all nighter. Hes still the best bed jockey around, nothing phases him and he stays on well past his eight seconds when push comes to shove!!

So in the interest of keeping the peace I 'taught' him to stay on his bed last night, on the floor to the right side of my own bedroom real estate, with the help of a short leash and bit of extra reading time before bed. That helped me keep an eye on his sneaky moves!

James doesn't mind the pups up in the bed but Merk needs to get used to the change in climate and not shake the bed with his panting.

Last night was much, much better even when he was up on the bed this morning so it will only be a matter of time to determine if his bed will be on the floor or up with us. And seeing how much Merk loves his papa (James is only the second person in his life that he trusts completely) I'm wondering how much time it will be before he is completely spoiled to bed life.

Having his wonderful fluff to wake up to in the morning is heavenly though I do miss having Griffin in. It was decided that Merk has seniority and Griffin can still have free range of the entire dog yard since he has never tested the fence.

The other outside dogs will start their indoor rotation again soon but Merk needs a bit more transition time and a few more days to feel at ease in his new permanent surroundings.
