Rain Today...

Temps continue to be 40+ with the low only down to 30. A little rain fell this morning... I never thought I would say this but I miss our deep cold snaps of 40-60 below zero even with all the hard work of loading and unloading the outside dogs to make sure they stay warm.

Summer does have its highlights but with the melting snow there are so many things Im not looking forward to. Mostly the muck and hidden poo I missed during the winter. Got some of it up today but I know there has got to be many more 'presents' waiting...

New wood shavings will solve many of these problems but there will be some time where we will have to endure puddles until the ground breaks.

The dogs are really enjoying themselves in these warmer temps. Aquila took a prime spot under one of the old spruce trees to rest while everyone had free time this morning running and playing. It was really nice to see everyone in such high spirits.

I put Hera, Gemini and Remus in the pen together. Hera's darn hormones are sparking a little bit (even though she was spayed so long ago) and shes a bit moody for the dogs to deal with right now. Since she adores Remus he gets to stay in there and her sister too since those two know each other so well and have a bond I dont believe anything could break.

Its tough to see them confined in a 30'x30' pen when they have so much room to move around in the main yard. Ah well, the time will come when she will settle and can come back out to play with the rest.

The mood around the yard while those three were in was pretty weird. Mercury felt free to come out, let his guard down without being challenged by Remus and lay on a dog house. Aquila felt free to also let her guard down without being challenged by Hera and play with Juno in a fun manner that was not edged with dominance.

The dynamics of the yard are always continuously changing but it was nice to see the 'old' ways are still there even though we have these five new knucklehead puppies running around!

Speaking of which, it was Thani and Mercury's day inside the house and when the two stood side by side Thani was taller than his Grandfather! Already! They are seven months old now...
