Moving Momentum

James and I have been talking about moving my office for quite some time. Today seemed to be the right day and with Ben's help we got quite a bit of the office moved over. This new space is a bit bigger than the old and we all hope it will help greatly on our heating bill. The old office was attached to our home but for some reason the heat transfer was not as efficient as the main house.

Its going to be a tough winter for many, many Alaskans who are deciding to stay and tough it out. Every day we hear of more and more people moving to the lower 48 to better handle their energy bills. Its a shame that so many are deciding to make the move but not too surprising. Possibly many of those folks already had their foot out the door after handling a few of our brutal winters, they may have needed an extra nudge to feel comfortable about leaving for good.

Leaving is the farthest thing from our thoughts. I cant imagine being any other place than my home... I joke and tell James that Id be delighted to move, on the condition that we go farther NORTH! Not to the east or west but straight up! The Brooks Range would be an especially lovely area to live. : )

Being in this new office is an extra delight with my view directly out on the dog yard where I can listen to their antics all day and all night when I'm working late. I love hearing them, listening to them play, listening for signs of distress... Id love to be out there 24/7 making sure they are well, happy and safe but the realities of life don't allow that. Being this close to them is the next best thing.
