Oh boy, the dreaded time of year... break up... ugh!
Compared to last year this years water logged yard is extremely dry! Ive been out there with the sump pump most nights, raking straw into doggy depressions in the yard, spreading shavings and picking up poop like mad before it makes its way into soup.
This year I did pretty good and managed to have most of the poop picked up before the snow fell. Its hard to get it all picked up throughout the winter and each thaw I find little things I missed. This time its not nearly as bad though Boreas is making clean up a challenge since he really likes to step in his whether its from last year or only a day old. Its really hard to see in all the straw and left over snow but after picking up the stuff for more than ten years you get a good eye for it. Sometimes I amaze myself at how well I can spot a squished poodo in the muck.
Hopefully the rain will continue to hold off until the ground breaks. The temperature has been warm at around 40 and 50 but there is STILL piles of snow around and our lawn is still half covered in snow. Its going to be a long thaw...
No photos for now, I'm still up to my neck in this Riverboat order and keeping up with the dog yard clean up. I can see the end of the tunnel on both projects, just a little more time and the yard will be dry and Riverboat can receive all of their stock. Just the bookmarks left to go now but all 1008 note cards are done as well as the 100 post cards and 145 matted prints.
I purposefully didn't count it until now... I knew it would turn my brain to mush...
