Quick Note

Thought I would take a quick moment to share some of the highlights these past few weeks. The Yukon Quest show continues to do extremely well and all the dogs are still THRILLED to come when it is their turn.

We received the single highest donation from a single person at $250.00 dollars!! We would like to thank all the people who continue to donate to our cause and to let them know that we are constantly striving to continue to make a difference in our community with our shelter sled dogs.

We also have some building materials stashed for our big project coming up. Not only has money been donated but we have received many donated goods as well!! We are so fortunate to have many hands available for the raising of this building. I will post more details about its cause and how important it is to our overall projects very soon.

This summer I need to put the repairing of Hermes dog house on my list. When he cant come to the show with me he has a temper tantrum and chews anything in range. Poor boy, he really loves his job!!

If I'm running two teams on the four wheeler he usually has to go both times or I dread what I will find when I come back to the kennel. Ever since he decided he wanted to be a working dog he wont take no for an answer!

When its been cool enough I have been sneaking out at night with two teams taking them for a short loop and getting them tuned up. Pandora really enjoys pulling but needs to learn how to pace herself and relax knowing that her body can do what the big boys can and so much more.

At her stage its so critical to make sure she is learning more mentally than physically to be sure she has the chance to secure a good future as a solid working dog.

Zephyr and Hermes lead the way for the second teams run
(Zephyr and Hermes in lead, Calypso and Ichabod in swing, Boreas and Hera in wheel)

First teams four wheeler run. This trip we almost went the full distance before the dogs needed me to use the rig to help. Total miles for this loop is 2.7.
(Hermes and Juno in lead, Gaea and Pandora in swing, Thani and Remus in wheel)

Ajax takes his job of helping out at the Yukon Quest show a bit too seriously.
