First Sled Run of the Season

Just got back from our first sled run and possibly our earliest yet. Took out 9 dogs with Kathy's help on my toboggan, 7 dogs to start then plugged the last 2 in about half way in. Probably went a couple of miles but I'm not certain. Have to study up on my maps for another season...

The snow was coming down lightly all day yesterday and was driving me crazy! I couldn't work, well, I tried... but I found myself just zoning out not able to tear my eyes away from the flakes!

So I made myself get the team out this morning, took a short trip and now my head will hopefully be clear until at least Monday. We have the symposium show all weekend so at least I know I can be there without having major anxiety about the dogs being left at home.

And I forgot to bring my camera so I don't have any pictures to share... I will be sure and bring it next time.

Took out most of the team except for Remus and Hera. There are other dogs I'm thinking about running this season like Iggy, Gemini and our foster MollyAnna.

All the pups did wonderfully, we brushed up a bit more on our whoa commands (thanks greatly to Kathy for being a body on the break) but they still need some major work. The pups are so strong that they really need to get this lesson down.
