Art Expo Weekend

Scott Chesney and I will be showing our work off at the Art Expo this weekend at Pioneer Park from noon to 5pm. We are on the second floor of the big round building off to the left when you walk in from the main entrance, same spot as last year and the same place we have been for many, many ADMA Sled Dog Symposiums.

That's one of the nice things about being in a small town, we are often easy to find and our show set ups have few surprises. That is a huge relief for me at the moment since I'm EXHAUSTED from work and unfortunately none of that is trail work with the dogs! So frustrating...

Still doing business stuff during the day and working on our rental place at night and still trying extremely hard to convince myself this is all worth it. I know all our hard work will pay off many times over but I cant possibly describe how hard it is to be off the trail this time of year. This winter has been hard in too many ways and now that the weather is nice I'm still stuck inside. UGH! Patience, patience... trying very hard to be patient...

I found this beautiful property over in the Hatchers Pass area. Just beautiful... I have the pictures up on my desk for motivation and will be putting some up at our rental to keep our enthusiasm up. I don't know if the area is going to be as dog friendly as I want it to be but I know I want solitude and I know I don't want to live in 'Musher Central'. I enjoy breaking out and maintaining trails far too much to give that up now.

Two more days of work and Monday will be our release for the dogs and I. Come hell or high water we will be out there!! I don't know how much energy I can spare but something has to give, my mental stability is starting to weaken. I need that zen like trail space with the dogs, the forest and all that silence...

If your in town stop by and see us at the show. We have a large collection of Husky Hair Hats to choose from and this is a good time of year to check out the variety. They start going very fast as soon as the tourists come to town.

Scott has some neat new photos from the races this year. My fine art portfolio is finally up to date and I am showcasing all our new 2009 note cards at the Expo. Some of them are extremely cute and funny... if you dont catch them at the show look for them at our many retail outlets such as the Yukon Quest, Pleasent Valley Store, Cold Spot Feeds and Riverboat Discovery.

The Yukon Quest will also be a main showcase for us since we have decided that we dont have time for the Farmers Market this year. We will be putting much more of our effort into the new Quest shop to fill their space and delight the locals and tourists with our merchandise both new and old. Scott has some fantastic framed work hanging until the end of this month. I especially like his 'Chase Team' print... a must see framed hanging on the logs of the cabin.
