The clouds have finally moved out, as well as the wind, and we are back to clear sky and better temperature (0 this morning). Unfortunately the dogs and I have not gotten on the trail yet and here I sit wondering where all of March is going to go without us... its the best mushing month of the year!!Yesterday was way too windy and the dogs too far out of shape to tackle even the shortest trail with all this new snow. Our plan is to wait until the weekend traffic gets moving a bit to pack down the trails with a pass or two by snowmachine then head out for a short run and assess where the dogs are in their training. Running loose in the yard is great exercise and helps keep them limber but its nothing like the hard trail work they would rather be doing.
And our other trails that weve broken out will need to be attended to but the team is not used to breaking such heavy trail as soon as we leave the parking area. We got a LOT of snow...
I'm not counting us out yet, even if this weekend has to be spent over at the rental house again. All in good time... as I perfect my skills of patience... this is really, really hard...
