
Shavings were her love, her absolute joy... she claimed each pile as it was put in the yard and I loved seeing her so much in love with them. Years ago when we brought our first truck load into the yard she jumped up before I had a chance to put the tailgate down and claimed the entire lot (see photo).
I have the 'talent' of turning off my emotional brain to continue on with life, even with these memories I stay focused and move forward. But there are times when that guard is let down and my logical brain takes a back seat to the emotional one.
Its hard to believe that I haven't fully embraced the sorrow of her death until a year later. Better late than never I suppose...
