There is something so relaxing in brushing a dog, and the feeling is mutual for everyone involved. Olive had a real treat and got a lot of her old coat brushed out. She was a bit antsy and couldn't sit still but if I scratched her under the collar she did pretty well.
The pups are being a bit of a hold out on their fur since they stopped, what I thought was going to be, their full spring shed. Everyone except Chronos and Mercury are holding on to their coats which is good cause I'm just now getting ahead in the yard where time can open up for long hours of grooming.

When I went out to feed tonight I got a whiff of the sweet smell of shavings but towards the back of the yard its still a tiny bit funky. Not too bad though and with one more load we should have the problem solved.
My hands are slowly accepting summer and giving up the lingering aches and pains. There is so much to move, pull, rake, scoop... I am already developing callouses on my palms. These will come in handy when more yard work comes my way.

And with the Riverboat order complete and delivered today I am free to work again on this fine art commission and get some art done, finally! So many things have torn me away from that lately. Its been getting on my nerves a bit...
I may even try to finish my pencil sketch of Iris I did a long time ago. Its not anything Ive spent a whole lot of time on but its been a great warm up piece to get my mind flowing before I move onto to more serious work. Shes only got about an inch and a half left... seems a shame to leave her so close to completion.
