Dog Sled Riders

Another client trip today on our ten mile loop. I left a few dogs at home since it doesn't take more than a ten dog team to do the route even with two people in the sled bag, plus me driving. These guys are strong and handle the full load with complete ease! :)

Ben was on hand to take photos and record the day... the shots he caught were great and really showed the dogs interaction with our clients very well.

I am getting quite comfortable on this new sled, though I really need to make a new sled bag no later than the start of our next season. The one Im using works, especially for hauling gear, but when we get our clients in they have to sit on top of the bag and have to use a parka to keep the wind off. It works but its ideal to have enough room for them to cover up under the canvas for a nice comfy ride.

Polar keeps growing on me... over these past few runs she has really opened up and formed a connection. Like many of our fosters I don't mind if they stay for a while, especially if they are this sweet, but I would like to see her get into a nice home too.

She will have a lot to do while shes here and seems to be enjoying herself but we always like to see a foster move on to a new home since an empty house means we could save and rehabilitate another life.
