First we had a client come out and do our 30 minute run while her daughter skijored beside us. This trip was super special since the one skijoring was Beth who adopted Laya some time ago!!
It was so great to see those two again and even better when I hooked up Brooks along side Laya to give Beth some more power. Seeing those two run side by side was amazing and it was so wonderful to reflect on the connection that was made, not only with a wonderful woman, but with amazing dogs who were considered throw aways after they were dropped off at the animal shelter.
Once we got back to the truck we turned the dogs around and headed back out for the slough trail to collect some diamond willow for Nita. The dogs hauled quite a bit of weight and did amazingly well for the whole trip.
I'm not sure what the total miles were today and I'm too pooped to figure it out. That trail really kicked my butt and there is still more wood out there to collect later on.
It will be good work for the dogs and I cant think of anything more fun than hauling heavy loads in this wonderfuly warm March weather... it was only zero today! Such great weather to run dogs in and the light snow that was falling added to the wonderful journey.
