Forced Rest

Had a nice start to my day, got some logo work done for ISDRA this morning, played with Pandora and the girls then headed out to the dog yard for more clean up and free time with all the dogs while I worked. Lots of plans to go through and fun stuff to plan, enjoyed cleaning up and having my furry helpers all around until I stepped on that frickin' nail!!

My first thought was, "Thank God I stepped on it and not the dogs" my second though was, "Oh holy God that hurts!!" and a lot of other unmentionable words I really shouldn't mention here. Ive never had a nail go in this far before but thankfully it was firmly into the 2x4 and came out 'cleanly'.

Strange how the mind can push through... I didn't want to stop working but the idea of my dirty sock and shoe not being the best place for a healthy bleeding foot I figured I should go in and at least look at the damage. Darn it all for the 'I shoulds' in this world... it wasn't good and seemed to hurt worse after I looked at it. Why is that?

Then the other 'I should' told me to go to the ER. Three hours and a tetanus shot later I hobbled my butt back home and sat on the couch with ice. Watched a wonderful movie for the night while my foot swelled and reminded me of the pain every time I had to get up.

What a pain!! Oh well... its an obvious message that I need to slow down or I will be forced to slow down like I am now.

Tomorrow is another day and with more walking around I hope to have more 'practice' getting used to the pain. Unfortunately I refuse to completely stop, there is still way too much to do, but I will certainly be slower tomorrow.

Below is the video caught today, before the nail incident...
