Tough to Stay Quiet

It was very hard to only work a half day but when my foot started flaring up as I was cleaning and putting fence up in the dog yard I had to throw in the towel. Felt like I was working twice as hard keeping the weight off my other foot and my energy burned up real quick.

Thankfully James was on hand to run the chainsaw, it would have been very dangerous for me to do it being so off balance! We got a lot of trees down that Ive been meaning to get to for years and cleaned up some smaller ones so the dogs can have a clear track through the yard in some of the lower areas.

Now all I need to do is heal enough to haul out all the logs and branches and finish our fence gates. Not sure when that will be but tomorrow I'm going to try and stay off my feet and get this wound healed.

James really impressed me today with his tree felling skills. Check out these photos!

James after cutting the first and largest tree

The 'big one' James dropped exactly where he wanted it.
Good thing I opened the gate!!

The second tree in James' handiwork, dropped perfectly in the entrance of our small gate opening that was also removed before the trees were cut.
This was perfect practice for the work we need to do in Talkeetna to shape up our raw property! :)

And he kept impressing me today when he came home with news that we finally have a new motor for our new dog truck! It will be another project for him to get the motor in and another project for me to start working on plans for the new dog box. That will be exciting!

But I have to get some of these other details of summer worked out first. Thankfully I will have the shop to use this winter and if I'm sweet James will let me use a spot out there to work when it gets cold like we did with the trailer. My other box took almost four months so I imagine this one will be about the same, maybe quicker since I have a better idea on how I want to put it together.
