I'm working late tonight, something I told myself I wouldn't get back to doing, but its so tempting to keep going with James working nights. There is no one for me to go downstairs too at the moment... :(
It has been nice though that we both get to go to bed at the same time and I get to have him in the mornings. That has been sooooo sweet. Hard to get out of bed, but sweet! :)
Riverboat is almost finished. Scott and I made short work of their inventory and had it on their shelves in record time. I am very grateful for his help and its always a pleasure sharing this part of my retail business with him.
We can both be struggling artists at times and when I can share part of my business opportunities it makes us both richer in the process, for Riverboat too in fact. Having two talented artists working for them offers their visitors so much more. Hard to believe some of the big retail companies still don't carry enough mushing merchandise for the buying public. No matter, Scott and I are happy to fill the void!
This year may be a very busy one for us since Lance Mackey will be making appearances at the Riverboat Discovery to sign his new book and take photos with visitors. We will have our stock all laid out where they have the line roped off for those waiting to meet him. It will be a great way to put the spot light on our work and we are sure to see a very large increase in sales this year though that placement.
And, an increase in sales means an increase in funds for us to put towards our various projects we have going on. It will be very nice to have some extra to 'grease' our wheels as things roll along! :)
When we set up our stock yesterday we realized our new print rack wasn't quite filled out. Another quick run through on stock from both of us should have things set right by tomorrow. Scott will handle the final details at Riverboat while I focus on the first Yukon Quest show tomorrow with the shelter babies. I will have some adults on hand as well but this will be the babies first public appearance. They are sure to be an absolute hit!
And I'm continuing to juggle everything... my motivation was a bit down today, my brain full to the brim and I'm working through handling a bit of stress with all of this. Over the years Ive decided not to sweat things. Everything happens in its own good time and me fretting over it doesn't do anyone any good.
But things do stack up in my brain so much so that meditation times are a must every now and then. Some times I can get my brain to clear, some times not. If I cant get it right I look forward to another day tomorrow and another chance to get it right.
So while James works his extra hours building up what we are calling our 'Talkeetna Money' I keep working away here finding ways I can get more done and continue to be extremely grateful for the help I have at hand though the many folks who Ive worked with and built a wonderful solid relationship.
It really makes me proud to walk into such a huge operation that is the Riverboat Discovery, present them with an idea and receive the same answer, "We trust you, do what you think is best."
This is a wonderful town we live in. There are so many helpful people that surround me, so many wonderful businesses like Riverboat and the Yukon Quest that have helped fuel my dreams and so many more volunteers ready and willing to make a difference right along side.
Even though I'm swamped, spent and dealing with a brain that is only half operational at the moment... there is always room for gratitude and love for those who strive along with me... from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to all!
