Amazing Sled Run

Got out today to enjoy our new snow... yes, thats right, we got some new snow and lots of it! Well lots of it meaning for this time of year! : )

There are at least a couple of new inches on the ground and still a bit of base left. The sun was out today baking the trail but all of yesterday and before we've had cloud cover and snow showers. Perfect for preserving the trails...

So our run today was up in the air as to what we were going to do. Kathy came out with her team and we both didn't have any expections of what we were going to do or where we would go. The new trail we stumbled on was AMAZING!! I had never been down that section before even though Ive passed by the access point more times than I can count.

There were even a few side trails to explore off the main track that will be great to check out next season or later this month if the snow holds...

The temps were from 20-30 and the dogs held up beautifully! I had Boreas in wheel shortly after we started, then when he started to tire I pulled him out and put in Thani and Calypso. All three pups did great and I saw many tight tugs. Very exciting to see this for their future!!

Hermes again has not had his chance in harness but he will get it eventually. I don't want to try him until I can devote much more of my attention to his training. With his sensitive mind one wrong run could be the end to his working career even before it gets started.

Calypso seems to have gotten her appetite back and is doing very well. Shes back to her old hyper self again. And Griffin did fantastic in the team today! Even with the heat he kept on moving and pulling when he could.

It might have helped that I kept our pace slow today so no one would get overheated. I kept trying to think of an excuse to pull him out and put another pup in but he gave me no reason to. I'm still missing my loose adults... with Griffin running behind it makes the team feel a bit more like we used to be.
