Snow has been falling all night and all day today... there has been little accumulation. Seeing the trees turn white and the ground freeze again is just plain weird. I keep having to remind myself that its not October...I wonder if spring will ever come or if we will coast our way back into winter. That would be interesting! Especially with the fuel prices going up so high... I welcome the idea of getting back on the sled but having to heat the house again so soon is not a nice thing to think about.
The dogs are still in high spirits and don't seem to mind the consistent mud and puddles. I am amazed at how happy they are all the time.
My mood tends to change with the dog yard, when its boggy I get upset and worry about their comfort levels until things dry up... but judging by their happy play tonight I dont think they are bothered much by the dampness. They really kick up their heals and have a fabulous time... seeing that changes my mood for the better in an instant.A new foster arrived today. His name is Don and I believe he is the same dog from the yard that Salmon came from. I put them side by side in the yard for a few hours before moving him to the border pen. They both seemed very interested in each other, almost tender in a way.
Hes very gentle and very, very sweet. I'm excited to try him in the team as soon as the trails dry up and also to work with him more on a day to day basis. I think he has great potential to be a pet if a working home doesn't open up for him.
