Scrambled Eggs

This season is to be known as the summer of food!

The dogs and I have been so blessed, mostly the dogs, but in seeing them so happy and content I reap the rewards as well.

Every year people clean out their freezers and we get the scraps but this year has been even more plentiful. First it was the donation of 864 eggs... yes thats right 864! Fortunatly they were well frozen and store very well in our freezer. Each night Ive been making up a 3 dozen egg omlet for all to share, add in some salmon powder, a bit of extra fat and *poof* a meal fit for furry kings!!

Weve also been receiving some wonderful prime meat scraps and fat (mostly bacon fat and trimmings) from another wonderful woman. When those arrive Ive been mixing it into the 'egg bucket' for an extra treat. Our last meat drop off contained a bit of corned beef... after it was mixed with the eggs it smelled so delicious I was very tempted to sample a taste!

Its very funny to see the dogs wait before their bowl of kibble when the egg bucket comes by. They wait, knowing the best is still to come, for me to top off their regular meal with a mixture of warm tasties.

I cant possibly describe the eager look on their faces, its priceless to say the least, and my heart swells with such good feelings knowing they are so happy with the little addition to their diet each night. The only thought that brings me down is for the time when the egg supply runs low. Its very hard to imagine since we are only down to about 500 eggs now... thats still quite a lot!
