Trust

Took a ten mile run with the dogs on Saturday. They all did well and we broke out more trail. Looking forward to doing another run tomorrow and maybe shooting for a 15 miler to see how they do.

Calypso is finally out of her heat cycle so she can join us again. I might let her run free the entire time to get her running legs under her again. Shes been off for quite a while but she was really, really excited to be able to run around the yard again with the boys. They, of course, were still very much interested in her but she put them in their place without hesitation.

Chronos continues to spend extra time in the house since he cant come with us on the trail. Mercury is having his time inside too and seems to be accepting his retirement very well.

After all these years of having dogs like Salmon, Reba and Ichabod here its interesting to see them blossom and blend into my life so tightly. Usually the older ones don't bond as well as those Ive raised from pups but with this group something changed that day on the trail when I gave them their freedom and allowed them to express their trust.

I'm loose dropping them from the truck now, as I do with the other dogs, and they stay right by our hook up area with only Salmon venturing off a little more than the other two. She still stays within the other dogs free run range and delights me every time she comes when I call.
