Eli is doing much better with her infection. She should have only a few more days before her swelling goes down. It will be a relief to see her get back to normal even though her personality and energy level hasn't changed at all!
It will be nice to have her back in the team again, even though we really cant tell shes in there cause shes so small and can only pull so much, her tiny body and great big attitude is always missed when she has to stay home.
The other big change around here is that Gaea came into heat a few weeks ago and she has also had to stay home. She is only a few days into her fertile stage and the boys are going NUTS!! They are driving me crazy, especially Griffin who goes around the yard looking for her scent and whining where ever he goes. Gaea on the other hand is completely satisfied since Nita and I have decided to try her with Clyde and see about some pups!! We are not sure if Clyde is fertile since hes still a bit young but young boys have surprised many a musher!!
I wasn't sure about having pups this soon, I thought for sure we would have to wait a few more years until our three year old pups were older but since Nita needs more pups to fill out her team it will work really well for us. I am still hoping for a small litter and would love to take on one or two new babies to train, though it will depend on how many we have to work with since Nita needs more dogs in her team than I do right now. We will definitely be raising at least one here though! :)
And on top of all that Clyde's sister Bonnie also came into heat a few days ago! What am I going to do with all of these boys!! They are going to drive me crazy!!!
Thank God I had fixed Calypso this summer! I couldn't handle another girl in heat right now! Its never the girls that are a problem, its those darn boys!
