She really enjoyed the experience and it was such a delight to hear her laughing from the back of the sled and having a darn good time the whole way. Shes going to see about coming out to join us a third time this next weekend. We hope she does as there are still many more fun trails to explore!
Her sled handling skills were top notch! Ive always said, if your a skier your more than halfway there to being a great sled driver. The two sports are nearly identical...
Hermes got to lead another team for the first time in his young life. He wasn't too sure about not having 'mom' as his driver but when he saw us up ahead he got back to work and really pulled into his harness!

She stayed with us, as usual, and was looking great free running. Not sure why she decided to bag it in harness but we plan on working her more into the tours since most of our tour trips are relatively short and even though shes older shes not ready to retire just yet.
Maude (foster dog) is also on our list to get out for more tour miles but, as we always do, we are adding in new dogs cautiously and one at a time so that each has proper attention paid by their musher to watch for signs of fatigue or other special needs. Adding one at a time also helps us keep the teams under control, gets everyone on the same level of training and patience for what ever the trail has in store for us and keeps our levels of safety very high.
It is always our primary focus to keep dogs and humans safe and sound through the entire trail process and back here at home. We've worked long and hard to achieve this level of comfort for all and it really shows through the ease we can work with our dogs and how comfortable they are able to feel around each other.
